i've apologized verbally........ none of them is going to meetings any longer...... my husband and i have been drifting away for several years..... .
i was raised a witness, and thought we were doing the right thing.
I have apologized to my children for bringing them up in the troof. They are no longer going to meetings at all and are beginning to live their lives how they should - enjoying life sensibly.
I just peed off at the moment as my dad did not tell me (or my children) that my grandmother died - until AFTER the funeral!
Might do a seperate thread on this in a couple of days when my head gets round it.

i have a couple of mysteries, robert barnard's newest one and a really old arthur upfield.
I'm reading The Partner by John Grisham.
I know it's not very literary but I find his books very entertaining - I love courtroom dramas and political ones too.
I also love cars and subscibe to F1 magazine (Formula 1) and Evo too. I read them both from cover to cover before handing them on to my son.
Sounds sad but Evo seriously is the best written car magazine in the world bar none and the photos are staggering. If you love driving you'll love Evo.
my dub mother sent me a package today, inside was a nwt bible, a picture of me around age 5 at an assembly - i looked miserable and my dad was holding a battery operated fan in front of me, and a letter, here is the letter.
i ask that you remember that i was 18 when i left and i'm now 42, that there is a total of 8 children in my family and there are only 2 that are still jw's, oh and that my mother is a complete nutcase!

I am dreading a letter like that from my mum - it's always mums isn't it, not dads?!
As has been mentioned, the emotional blackmail is in there but because they believe they are soooooo right they can't understand how awful the letter actually reads.
My heart goes out to you and your response and that of some others on here have been hilarious!
Evern though my mum has not sent me a letter like that since I was d'fed 5 years ago, I know that she is thinking that way inside and that she is just waiting for me to walk back in to the Kingdom Hell - never gonna happen!

it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.

Well I know everything isn't over yet but what a great big step for you to be home, in your own surroundings and reunited with your dogs!
Claire will be pleased too. She has been terrific again, not least in keeping us all updated.
Take it easy Ian and enjoy - we will all make sure you are in the 50% who don't need to be readmitted!

Marie and I are just back off holiday - we thought of you both a lot whilst we were away. Thanks for your posts that are keeping everyone informed - you are as strong as Ian is and we all appreciate your efforts.
We have just sent an ecard to Ian, what a good idea that is - don't think they have that system down here in Essex.
Here's to hoping that the days get easier as time goes on for both of you.

My first opinion was that is was utter rubbish.
However, it is a break from the pretty predictable offerings of the past and I don't expect to grow to 'love' it but it certainly stands out and will be instantly recognizeable as the logo for the London Olympics.
Let's get away from the boring and the staid. In the end, my prediction is that the logo will be a winner.
mine are switzerland, germany, japan, sweden, and china.

You are so right about the English countryside - it is breathtaking isn't it? I spent a lot of my childhood in Kent, the Garden of England. I love England to bits, and the West coast of Scotland and the Isle of Skye are lovely too. I remember driving along the Antrim coastal road with it's spectacular scenery. Wales has got some great driving roads and some nice scenery too.
As for other countries, I have to agree with others that Switzerland is a superb place and I am going back there next month. My favourite country for diversity has to be South Africa - it really is a 'world in one country'. Seen Kruger and lot's round Cape Town including the Winelands but want to go back to drive the Garden Route.
I love USA too - California was fantastic, especially the coast route up from L A to San Francisco. Florida was rather uninteresting apart from the wonderful attractions near Orlando and Sanibel Island near Clearwater was fabulous. New York was everything I expected and more! Loved the frenetic pace and the buildings are awesome. Must go back - forgot to do a tour of Bethel!!!!!!!!!! Not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is the first time i've been on here in about a month, though trev has been posting some days, so i've been able to keep up with everyone's news.
thankyou all so much for the well wishes you keep sending me, they all mean so much.
apart from my other problems, i've had a really painful back injury for the last few weeks, which has made it impossible for me to sit comfortably at the pc.
